Birthday mail and some no longer misplaced cards

So today is my birthday!
I was allowed to open my birthday mail
and I got some packages as well.

This card came with some cute stickers and tea
from the Netherlands.

A simple but cute card from Belgium.

And now to the "no longer misplaced" part
of my post. These cards arrived in Belgium
after I left. My mom put them away in a safe place,
and couldn't find them anymore.
Luckily she found them in time to send with my
birthday card, so now I have these beauties to
enjoy today as well.

Sent from Germany by a Dutch Postcrosser.
The date shows how long ago, haha.

Cute Christmas wishes from the Netherlands.

Beautiful greeting card from a friend in Japan.

They really know how to make cards in Japan.

A pretty winter landscape from Finland.

 "Snow Queen"
International Christmas stamp
2017

These stamps were on one of the packages
I received today.
It is a shame you can't see the metallic shine
of the two ART stamps on the scan.
Top right and middle:
ART POST
set of 4, 2015
Top left:
Easter stamp
2016
Bottom:
“The Arctica miniature sheet with artwork by Erik Bruun features migratory birds that nest in the North. Arctica refers to the migration of birds that nest in the Arctic region, a phenomenon that is eagerly watched by bird enthusiasts on the shores of the Gulf of Finland, especially in the spring.
The miniature sheet contains two domestic no-value indicator stamps and two added value stamps worth €0.10 and €0.20
The €0.10 stamp portrays the long-tailed duck, which has been classified as a vulnerable species.”

The lady with the beard

And suddenly I have more official Postcrossing card
received than sent! I have to do something about that.

Another cat from France, cute!

I know this is a very common stamp,
I just thought the cancellation was pretty funny.

This card came unwritten from Spain, with a separate note,
and a lot of stamps added in the envelope!

And on the envelope as well.
Stamp in the middle:
250th birthday of
2004
Stamps on the right:
"Casa de Antonio Lópes Torres"
Unfortunately I couldn't find decent info
about this painter
2013

The last official for the day,
from the U.S.A.

This card was send to me through
Sendsomething, from the U.S.A.
It is a picture of, the now dwarf, planet Pluto.

First officials in Ireland

Yesterday and today I received my first official Postcrossing cards
in Ireland!
And my fellow Postcrossers spoiled me.

This cute sleeping kitty came from The Netherlands.
The sender was so kind to not only send the card in
an envelope, she also used several stamps on it.
Plus! She added some extra Christmas stamps for
my collection, which will be featured in a separate post.

"Kinderpostzegels" 2007
The +22 eurocent is paid on top of the 44 cents
and it goes to charities which focus on children.
The stamps are sold by children (11-12 years old) as well.

The following card came from France.
The kitten on the right of the card is Chi,
a character from a manga/anime by Kanata Konami.
I am so lucky to receive this card.

The card also came in an envelope
The stamp (2017) on the right shows
the Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The next two cards came from Germany.
This is a beautiful view on Eltz Castle

 She added this unwritten card

And used this really pretty envelope,
in which she also put some extra Christmas stamps!

Three shoes and catching up on "old" mail

Some of this mail I received a while ago already,
but I still felt it should be shared here now that
I finally have a scanner.

This greeting card was a nice surprise in the mail.
It comes from the U.K.

"The first World War - 1917 special stamps"
artwork by Edward Wadsworth

I love these kittens!
They were send to me from Russia.

"Treasures of Russia"
The Diamond Fund of Russia forms a part of the State Fund of Precious Metals and Precious Stones of the Russian Federation. The fund houses one of the most renowned and largest collections of unique precious stones, noble metals and pieces of jewelry art, which have great historic, artistic, scientific and material value.

This envelope came from Portugal.
My pen-friend kept it for me because she knows
I love Pucca!
The stamp matches quite well.

A swap from the U.S.A.
I am a Trekkie and proud of it.

I can't show any stamps with these cards from the Netherlands,
simply because they don't have any!
They were send with the "niet plakken maar smakken"
event by PostNL. On the 13th of February you
can send mail with a kiss instead of a stamp,
which will be delivered on Valentine's day.
Actually it is supposed to be only for inside the country,
but I got some here in Ireland!

First mail scanned!

I set up my all-in-one printer and
of course I had to try it out.
I hope the scans are not too bad,
it is my first time using wireless connection.

You'll see postcards from two countries this time.
First is China
The two shaped cards were surprise extras
to the swap I made. Aren't they cute?

This is the card I actually swapped for,
I love this series and this is the only card
I have.

The sender also decorated the back,
so I had to show it here.

The postcards came in this pretty envelope.
Unfortunately the mail system damaged it right on the stamps.

And to end with for today,
this postcard I got from a friend living in the U.S.

Where did I disappear to?

You might have wondered: "What happened to this blog?"
I have been neglecting it for so long...
Well, here is the reason why: I moved!
And not just to another house, no to a whole new country!
I am living in Ireland, Cork now.
Although I kept posting on Instagram, I had no scanner
to make nice, clear images of my mail.
Yesterday that changed, I hope I can get everything to work soon,
and then I will be back here with several updates.
