Let's visit some countries...

We will start in

Denmark, Copenhagen

Next stop, Hallstatt, Austria

We already have map for Milton Keynes, UK

München, Germany

This is the Palace of the Parliament, Romania

When possible, go to a Postcrossing meeting
while travelling! Like this one in the Netherlands!

Or this one on the border of the Netherlands and Germany

We will end with a tour around the States
The bear guides us to California.

More specifically to Venice Beach.

Do you know The Magic House in Missouri?

A quick stop in Sun City West, Arizona

Hello Texas!

Say goodbye to The White House in Washington D.C.

The lady with the beard

And suddenly I have more official Postcrossing card
received than sent! I have to do something about that.

Another cat from France, cute!

I know this is a very common stamp,
I just thought the cancellation was pretty funny.

This card came unwritten from Spain, with a separate note,
and a lot of stamps added in the envelope!

And on the envelope as well.
Stamp in the middle:
250th birthday of
2004
Stamps on the right:
"Casa de Antonio Lópes Torres"
Unfortunately I couldn't find decent info
about this painter
2013

The last official for the day,
from the U.S.A.

This card was send to me through
Sendsomething, from the U.S.A.
It is a picture of, the now dwarf, planet Pluto.

Top left:
100th birthday of Andrew Wyeth
2017
Top right:
Bottom:
Elvis Presley
2015

Long overdue update

Yes, birthday mail from last month!
My birthday was on the 12th of March
and I received lovely mail to celebrate.

These cards come from fellow postcrossers in
Belgium and The Netherlands

From my sweet pen-friend in The Netherlands
with more Japanse candy!

From another dear (pen-)friend in the Netherlands
She spoiled me!

Harry Potter letter paper!!! from my pen-friend in Portugal
She included a sweet homemade birthday card
which I of course forgot to include in the photo

And look how she decorated the back of the envelope!
I have to get my hands on such stamps as well!

This letter has nothing to do with my birthday,
but my Japanese pen-friend always spoils me.

More mail from Asia, Taiwan
My pen-friend thought of me when she saw
the cat cards, haha. They are really cute indeed!

Mail from Turkey! I hope I'll hear from this girl again.
She just started sending mail via sendsomething and
I was one of the lucky people who got a surprise package from her:
coffee (way too strong for my taste, but so happy I could try it),
tea, a little panda chocolate (which looked really cute, I still ate it though),
a postcard and a letter!

These Christmas stamps come from the Netherlands!
Postcrossers are kind people, we help each other out,
stamps for me, tea for the lady who collected them
from her mail. Works perfect!

Postcards!

Let me start with this one from Mexico!
A teacher asked for swaps for his students
and of course I couldn't resist.

This is a view on the church of Arandas

This stamp from 2015
celebrates 125 years of Treaty of the Metre
in Mexico

The next two beauties came from
a fellow postcrosser and (pen-)friend of mine

Isn't this kitty cute?

This one comes from the USA
from a pen-friend I "met" on Sendsomething

Another Sendsomething card, from Canada, Toronto

Year of the Monkey 2016
Designed by Albert Ng and Linna Xu, the stamp is inspired by Sun Wukong, or Monkey King, a central character from the 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West. It features a stylized portrait of Sun Wukong, whose colourful crown and headband extend beyond the stamp’s upper border. In the lower right corner is the Chinese character hóu, meaning monkey. The character is written in gold, one of the Monkey’s lucky colours.

The Year of the Monkey begins on February 8, 2016, and ends on January 27, 2017. The ninth of 12 animals to appear in the Lunar Calendar, the Monkey is traditionally thought of as all-powerful and God-like, representing honour, luck, riches and longevity.

And last but not least,
this card comes from Turkey, Istanbul
via Postcrossing

Letters from old and new friends!

This letter from the Netherlands was a total surprise!
I don't even remember when I received the previous
letter from this pen-friend.
But look at how nice it is! With sweets, a card and
a Cardcaptor Sakura hanger she brought all the way
from Japan!

This letter fell in my mailbox today, from the US,
it comes from a new pen-friend! She found my
profile on Sendsomething and decided to write.
Of course I am going to reply!

Lovely surprises and Christmas cards!

A very kind Italian lady sent me all this letter paper as a surprise
as she is clearing out her collection! I am so happy with it all and
even used some of it already.

One of my sweet pen-friends from Japan included
these little bags of Furikake, I had never heard of
it before, but I am open to try new things.
We already sprinkled some of the spices on our rice!

These are Christmas card 6 & 7 already, both from the U.S.A.
The one on the left is from a pen-friend,
the right one is from Mooshi the cat!

Back from vacation, time to show my incoming mail!

Hello all! I am back from the States
and was lucky to come home to a nice pile of mail!
I am sorry for the quality of the pics, I am still really tired
and my hands are far from steady.

Postcards from the Netherlands and the one bottom right
comes from Romania

A letter from Tessa from the Netherlands!
Look at the nice envelope and pretty paper

A card from the USA via Sendsomething

Three letters from Japan
Spoiled by all my sweet pen-friends

Swap from Indonesia, for the "my language" collection

And last but not least, a letter I got today from
my pen-friend in Canada
Pucca love!
