We took down the Christmas cards today, 

so time for an update here! 

Just sit back and enjoy...

Long overdue update

 Yes, birthday mail from last month! 

My birthday was on the 12th of March

and I received lovely mail to celebrate.

These cards come from fellow postcrossers in 

Belgium and The Netherlands

which I of course forgot to include in the photo

I have to get my hands on such stamps as well!

This letter has nothing to do with my birthday,

but my Japanese pen-friend always spoils me.

the cat cards, haha. They are really cute indeed!

Mail from Turkey! I hope I'll hear from this girl again.

She just started sending mail via sendsomething and 

I was one of the lucky people who got a surprise package from her:

coffee (way too strong for my taste, but so happy I could try it),

tea, a little panda chocolate (which looked really cute, I still ate it though),

a postcard and a letter! 

These Christmas stamps come from the Netherlands!

Postcrossers are kind people, we help each other out,

stamps for me, tea for the lady who collected them 

from her mail. Works perfect!

Happy Mailbox

Mijn brievenbus was heel blij vandaag. Een hoop kerstkaartjes voor mijn moeder en mij en... Een geweldige flop van Japan, voor... mij (natuurlijk).

Sticky notes, washi tape, stickers, paperclips, memoblaadjes en (een kleine selectie van de) heerlijk uitziende stickers. Ik zal de rest voor zich laten spreken. (De chocolade was yummy!)

Mid-Autumn Festival

Het Mid-herfst festival (ook gekend als het Mooncake Festival) is een populair oogst festival en een van de meest belangrijke feestdagen op de Chinese kalender. Op de kaart zie je Hello Kitty's vrienden de traditionele maancakes eten, terwijl ze samen naar de maan kijken. Op de maan zie je het "Jade Rabbit" medicijnen malen voor de goden.

The Mid-Autumn Festival (also known as the Mooncake Festival) is a popular lunar harvest festival and one of the most important holidays in the Chinese calendar. On the card you can see Hello Kitty's friends eating the traditional mooncakes, while watching the moon together. On the moon you see the Jade Rabbit pounding medicine for the gods.

Mijn lieve penvriendin Angel heeft me een hoop Hello Kitty speldjes gestuurd! Zo schattig!

My sweet pen-friend Angel sent me lots of Hello Kitty pins! How cute! 

Kijk naar die vierkante groene! Dat is België!

Ik had haar gevraagd of ze me enkele reclame kaarten van Taiwan wilde sturen, die zaten ook in de enveloppe. 

I asked her to send me some ad cards from Taiwan, which she also put in the envelope.
