Postcrossing Meeting Middelburg (the Netherlands) 12 March ’11
At 10 a .m. I took the train here in Geel to Antwerp . There I had 19 minutes to get an international train ticket. When I finally had it in my hands, I had 3 minutes left to catch my next train. I just made it… Luckily I had no other problems with getting in Middelburg and to find the others.
We had to wait a little for the last one to arrive, so I had the time for coffee and a slice of cake before we went out to shop cards. I’ve been a good girl and I only bought the cards I needed for my pen-friends. J At half past 2 we went to a café to write our cards (and to drink something of course). Then we went to the last shops and made a group picture.
Six Postcrossers, 2 kids and a husband went home. So 6 Postcrossers remained for dinner, including me. We went to a Italian restaurant, but the cook seemed to be still half asleep; spaghetti instead of penne, tuna instead of chicken… But the food was good.
I was going to stay with Telenn for the night, so I didn’t have to worry about the train. I was glad, it would take me 2,5 hours to get home, which meant I’d have to leave early. Telenn and I had a nice chat and went to bed at a quarter before 12. J

Travelling Notebook
A popular way to pass time for many Postcrossers is participating in Travelling Notebook, TN for short. A TN is a little book about any subject you can think of. The owner puts a call on the forum to find people who want to write something about the chosen subject. When there are enough responses, the booklet is send to the first person in line. After he/she has received the book and added his/her share, the TN goes to the next person. The idea is to get the TN, completely full from the first to the last page, back to its owner. Hence the name... You can also ask to send individual pages, sending around a little book costs a lot and there is a posibility that your TN goes lost in the mail. I have here an example of a TN in which I participated.

A fairy chimney is a tall, thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. Fairy chimneys consist of soft sedimentary rock topped by harder, less easily-eroded stone that protects each column from the elements.

Postcard I made
Another card I made myself. There are stamps on it which I traded with Postcrossers who were so kind to help me with my stamp cards.

Be creative...
