A postcard from South Africa!

I was randomly picked by a fellow sendsomething user from

South Africa! 

She sent me this lovely flower field

And used the 3D dinosaur stamp (set of 10, 2009)

This set of self-adhesive dinosaur stamps is the first ever with a 3D effect to be issued by the South African Post Office.

The stamps were illustrated by Chantelle Basson, a second-year Graphic Design student at the Open Window Academy in Pretoria. Five of the stamps depict skeletons of different types of dinosaurs, while the other five stamps show images of what scientists believe these creatures most probably looked like. All the dinosaurs depicted on the stamps have an African connection.

India Post released a stamp to commemorate 50 years of Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital, Delhi in the service of nation.

Postcards and stamps from Malta and Czech Republic

I got this postcard from the Czech Republic with matching stamps.

This beautiful castle is called Cervena Lhota

The stamp on the right shows the Chapel of the Holy Trinity,

which as you can see on the stamp in UNESCO WHS

I guess you can say I received this card from Malta for a very strange reason. 

The sender of this card, a fellow postcrosser, said that she got complaints about the stamps, 

which are never cancelled when she put the cards in the mailbox. To get the stamps

cancelled she has to go to the postoffice, wait in line and ask the staff to cancell

all the stamps. 

So I wrote a comment, that I thought she put a lot of effort in making people happy,

which is amazing, but that Postcrossing is about the postcards, not the stamps. And if she ever had to send me a card, she could just put it in the mailbox. 

Because I was the first to respond to her message,

she sent me this card and guess what, the stamp isn't cancelled.

The stamp (2014) commemorates the tenth anniversary of Malta's accession to the European Union. The stamp was designed by MaltaPost and depicts the Maltese national flag beside the flag of the European Union.

Fairies

This beauty fell in my mailbox today

Fairies' Whirl by Arthur John Black

Arthur John Black (1855-1936) is a well listed landscape and

portrait artist who worked in both oil and watercolour. He

studied in Paris at the Academie des Beaux Arts under the noted

artist Benjamin Constant. He exhibited at the Royal Academy 36

times, and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters 54 times. He was a

member of both the New Society of Painters in Watercolours and

the Royal Institute of Painters in Oil. He lived in Nottingham in

1884, London 1890 and Dorset from 1931 to his death in 1936.

A number of his works can be seen in the Castle Museum &

Gallery in Nottingham, The Gurnsey Museum of Art, and in many

private and public galleries.

I usually don't show the back, but Amanda made it 

look so pretty! 

And she also put the new 

Global Forever stamp on the envelope!

I also got some extra cards in the envelope but I don't know if I am going to use them to send out or keep them for myself. Once I know, you'll see them appear.
