Pune, India
Pune is known to have existed as a town since 847 AD. It was the first capital of the Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosale. In the 18th century, Pune became the political centre of Indian subcontinent, as the seat of Maratha Peshwas who were the prime ministers of the Maratha Empire.
Pune is the cultural capital of Maharashtra. Since the 1950-60s, Pune has had traditional old-economy industries which continue to grow. The city is now also known for Manufacturing, Automobile, Government & Private sector Research Institutes, Information technology (IT) and Educational, Management,Training institutes that attract migrants, students and Professionals not only from India but also students from South east Asia, Middle East and African countries.


The stamps used on this card were issued in 
2013 to commemorate 100 years of Indian cinema

How mail can brighten up your day!

This week I received a wonderful package!
My pen-friend from Canada sent me all kinds of goodies,

Canadian sweets and drinks
I still have to taste the Hot Apple drink, but all the 
other things are long gone and they were delicious!

A calendar with views from her home area and 
a cute dreamcatcher 
and stationery! 

I also received two stamp swaps from the Netherlands

I have the complete set of 20 December stamps
from the Netherlands, 2013!

First mail week of 2014


This envelope comes from Taiwan, the country participated in the
 "Australia 2013 World Stamp Expo"
that marked the Centenary of the Kangaroo Stamp which was issued as the first Commonwealth postage stamp.

It came with the new Dutch "international" stamp 
which shows the new king, Willem-Alexander.
The Netherlands no longer issue "Europe" and "World" stamps
from January 1st 2014.
