A Canadian card from the US

NOT my country postcard swap!
Sent to me from the US
with a pretty view on the Canadian Rockies

Established in 1885,Banff National Park was the first national park
created in Canada. Back then, its main purpose was to help pay for
the recently- built railway across the country. In 1984, Banff and the
other mountain parks were declared UNESCO WHS.

Happy mail

I received this lovely letter today,
it included a late birthday gift!
(But that is for another post.)

This seems to be a card "Discovery toys consultants" sent
to possible customers. The copyright on the back reads 1987.
Love it!

"A view of Savannah looking towards the
Savannah River and the
Talmadge Memorial Bridge"

"The Bob Graham Sunshine Skyway Bridge is
a cable-stayed bridge spanning over the 1200 foot (about 366 meters)
shipping channel of Tampa Bay, with a total length
of 21 877 feet (about 6 668 meters). The bridge is considered the "flag bridge" of Florida"

My pen-friend put lots of great stamps on her letter!

And last but not least, a postcard from the UK!

Fleetwood Transport Festival, also known as Tram Sunday, has been held annually on the third Sunday of July since 1985. It is a festival of vintage vehicles highlighted by a number of historical tram-cars, which parade along Lord Street.

Swaps

A swap arranged via twitter.
A view on Año Nuevo State Park in California

An "original" cancellation thanks to a mailman...

The 12th issuance in the American Treasures series
features details of paintings by four renowned Hudson River School artists.
This stamp features work by Thomas Moran
(2014)
”Inspired by the stunning natural beauty of New York state,
the loose-knit Hudson River School of painters flourished
from the mid-1830s to the mid-1870s
and gave America its first major school of art.”

This cute kitten arrived in my mailbox
via a Swap-bot "Cat lovers postcard swap",
it came all the way from Australia

I found more gifts in the mailbox

I got a great gift from one of my best friends earlier this week

If you are familiar with Keri Smith's work, you won't be surprised
when the postcards contain messages or tasks like these:

I received another surprise, from the Netherlands
More stamps! Love them.

Swap-bot cards

On another blog I read about a swap on Swap-bot called
"Not my country postcard swap" I liked the idea, but of course
I couldn't find an open swap. I did stumble on a similar one though
so I participated in "I've never been there postcard swap" .
The idea: send a postcard from a place you never visited.
Today I received the cards from both my partners.

The first card was send from the US and is about the US
The sender lives in Augusta, Georgia and never visited San Francisco

The second card was send from Bulgaria and is about the US
The sender never visited the US.

I can't find information about this stamp
but it is issued in 2012
