Trieste

Het kasteel in het midden van de kaart is het Kasteel Miramare. Het werd gebouwd tussen 1856 en 1860 voor Aartshertog Maximiliaan van Habsburg en zijn vrouw Charlotte van België (dochter van de Belgische koning Leopold I).

Het was hier dat hij de kroon van Mexico accepteerde waarna hij, met zijn vrouw, als Keizer Maximiliaan I naar Mexico trok. Nadat hij werd gedood in Mexico, keerde Charlotte terug naar Miramare en verhuisde uiteindelijk weer naar België.

Het kasteel is nu een museum. 

The castle shown in the middle of the card is the Miramare Castle. It was built from 1856 till 1860 for the Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Habsburg and his wife Charlotte of Belgium (daughter of the Belgian king Leopold I).  

It was here he accepted the crown of Mexico after which he, with his wife, moved to Mexico as Emperor Maximilian I. After he got killed in Mexico, Charlotte returned to Miramare and eventually moved back to Belgium. 

The castle is now a museum.

Ik ben geen Death Note fan, maar deze kaart vind ik wel mooi.

Heb deze anime nooit gezien, maar als echte manga/anime fan, kon ik er toch niet aan weerstaan.

Never watched this anime, but as a real anime/manga fan, I couldn't resist it. 

St. Augustine

Het González-Alvarez House, ook gekend als het Oudste Huis, is een historisch huis in St. Augustine, Flordia, gebouwd circa 1723. Het is een U.S. National Historic Landmark en het is open voor het publiek. Er is bewijs zichtbaar van de Spaanse, Britse en Amerikaanse bezettingen van St. Augustine.

The González-Alvarez House, also known as the Oldest House,is an historic house in St. Augustine, Florida, built circa 1723. It is a U.S. National Historic Landmark and it is open for public tours. Evidence can be seen of the Spanish, British and American occupations of St. Augustine.

Deze schattige "Mermaid Melodey" naam-stickertjes vond ik vandaag in de brievenbus. Ik had gevraagd om ze te drukken met mijn nickname en voornaam. Heel handig op Postcrossing meetings. Ze zijn gedrukt in Taiwan. Me want more!

I found these cute "Mermaid Melodey" name-stickers in my mailbox today. I asked them to be printed with my nickname and real name. Really useful on Postcrossing meetings. They were printed in Taiwan. Me want more!

Mijn lieve penvriendin Angel heeft me een hoop Hello Kitty speldjes gestuurd! Zo schattig!

My sweet pen-friend Angel sent me lots of Hello Kitty pins! How cute!

Ik had haar gevraagd of ze me enkele reclame kaarten van Taiwan wilde sturen, die zaten ook in de enveloppe.

It's a cat stamp!

En dit is wat ik de lieve Postcrosser heb terug gestuurd voor de mooie Manga Mail Art. 

And this is what I sent the kind Postcrosser in return for her beautiful Manga Mail Art.

Een katten stempel... Waarom is hij roze? Omdat ik moest controleren of ik genoeg van de gom had weggesneden. Dus moest ik hem al gebruiken en wanner je zwarte inkt gebruikt, wordt het erg moeilijk om er later een andere kleur op te zetten.

A cat stamp... Why is it looking pink? Because I had to check if I cut enough away of the eraser. So I already had to use it and when you use black ink, it will be really hard to put another colour on it later. 

En ik heb een stempel gebruikt die ik eerder had gemaakt om te enveloppe te decoreren.

And I used a stamp I made earlier to decorate the envelope.
