Collecting Christmas stamps

I remember writing this blog post in 2010 

who would have thought that only three years later (started collecting last year)

I would actually "hunt" for these FDCs and buy them too! 

I bought these covers in a little shop in Portland, Maine.

I love them and yes, now I can see the value of them!

(and they are still just pretty too)

Efteling Postcrossing meeting!

Last week I attended the Efteling meeting

in the Netherlands. One of the fellow

members let us sign this card (yes, including me!)

for me. I had no idea, haha.

She used a stamp she had designed especially for this meeting

and a Christmas stamp which I didn't have yet! 

Although the stamps will stay on the card (obviously) I am really happy 

to have them in my collection!

Now I must try my hardest to make her something nice in return ^^

Supporting a good cause

My mom and I went to an "open house" day from an animal shelter,

to support them we bought tickets for some kind of lottery. 

We won two prices, including this paper! Lucky!

Shame on me, I forgot to post this amazing card and 

cute mini envelopes which I won on facebook.

Trying a new type of card

Although I need to practise some more to get 

a better result, for a first time, it doesn't look that bad.

And the card will travel in this envelope...

A postcard from South Africa!

I was randomly picked by a fellow sendsomething user from

South Africa! 

She sent me this lovely flower field

And used the 3D dinosaur stamp (set of 10, 2009)

This set of self-adhesive dinosaur stamps is the first ever with a 3D effect to be issued by the South African Post Office.

The stamps were illustrated by Chantelle Basson, a second-year Graphic Design student at the Open Window Academy in Pretoria. Five of the stamps depict skeletons of different types of dinosaurs, while the other five stamps show images of what scientists believe these creatures most probably looked like. All the dinosaurs depicted on the stamps have an African connection.
