Fairy chimneys zijn met aardpiramides vergelijkbare smalle rotspilaren die op de bodem van kloven staan. Ze bestaan uit lagen zachte rots met daarboven hardere rotslagen. Deze hardere rotslagen beschermen de zachtere lagen lager in de pilaar tegen erosie.

A fairy chimney is a tall, thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. Fairy chimneys consist of soft sedimentary rock topped by harder, less easily-eroded stone that protects each column from the elements.

Postcard I made

Weer een kaartje dat ik zelf gemaakt heb. Er zitten postzegels bij die ik geruild heb met Postcrossers die zo vriendelijk waren om mij te helpen met mijn postzegel kaartjes.

Deze kaartjes heb ik gemaakt voor de Round Robin 'Be creative'. De opzet is zelf een kaartje te maken rond een bepaald thema en dat naar je partner op te sturen. Je krijgt dan van je partner ook een zelfgemaakt kaartje terug.

Lucky winner

Ik doe regelmatig mee met de lotterijen op het Postcrossing forum en tegenwoordig win ik wel eens. Deze speciale kerstzegels zijn pas aangekomen. Ik denk dat vooral postzegelverzamelaars hier de waarde van zien. Om eerlijk te zijn, ik vind ze gewoon mooi.

I participate regularly at lotteries on the Postcrossing forum and lately I win now and then. These special Christmas stamps arrived a few days ago. I think that the stamp collectors among us can see the value of them. To be honest, I just think they’re pretty.
